Fluffy Ricotta Pancakes - healthy, too ;)

Since we're all having to potentially contemplate staying at home this summer - how about a simple, but delicious recipe to treat yourself and your loved ones who are in lockdown with you? A pancake breakfast? Who doesn't love pancakes? This recipe is one I go to for a low calorie and yummy result that can't go wrong. You can have it with any topping you like, too! We love it with fruity toppings, such as blackberry coulis and Greek Yoghurt, which you can see in this picture

Who doesn't love the smell of fresh bread???

It's something a lot of my guests remark on when they enter the house after I've just baked something - it smells lovely! I do miss the smell of German bakeries over here in the UK and normally make a point when going back to Germany to visit family/friends to shop at a local bakery or at least walk past them sniffing the air ;) Today's bake is a delicious and simple bread made with an old flour variety called Einkorn flour in combination with a rye sourdough and pecan nuts.

So here three simple, yummy, filling recipes if you want to have some leaner food this month - one for meat-eaters, one veggie option and a fish dish: C

    Laugenbagels

In Germany we have a range of baked goods, of which most of you will know the Brezel, which are going through a brine (= Lauge in German) bath before being baked in the oven, which gives them their distinct brown colouring and particular taste. So I thought I'd marry up two cultures today introducing the Laugenbagels I make regularly and which are great for savoury toppings of your choice like cheese, salmon, salami, etc. For 6-8 (depending on how big you make them) you need

    Vienna

Hey everyone, It's been a while and for a change I think I'm not posting another recipe, but a little travel report of a wonderful Christmas market weekend spent in Vienna. We went over the last November weekend and were greeted by an overcast cold and grey Vienna, which was beautiful nevertheless - it's a friendly little capital with stunning buildings (especially beautiful in the dark hours as lots of them are lit), great for foodies and a wonderful array of Christmas marke
