Christmas is coming ... nearly there

Isn't it amazing how time flies when you're busy and having fun?

It feels a little bit like I've just moved to North Wales on the one hand, but at the same time I feel very settled here in my new home. Well, the calendar says it's December, so I've nearly lived a whole year here in beautiful Penmaenmawr.

Winter is drawing in and we even had some snow earlier this month - isn't it pretty? I went for a short walk up in the mountains where these pretty photos were taken along the Jubilee Walk, which is different every time I walk it.

I've walked quite a bit this year, my photo folders suggest I've been on at least 10 walks with my new friends from the Llandudno Meetup Group, another dozen or so on my own exploring the area gradually and then another dozen more with friends and family.

Not bad going at all. But there are still loads more I haven't walked this year, so plenty left for 2018, 2019, 2020, ... ;)

Other than enjoying the beautiful natural setting I'm in now, I've hosted a fair amount of guests considering that my little B&B only opened at Easter this year. Obviously hoping for at least double the number next year - fingers crossed!

I'm liking my new life style very much, even though I've had to take on a part-time job (working from home, yay!) during the quieter months, but the freedom and lack of stress has been absolutely great.

It will be my first ever Christmas I'm hosting in the UK this year and my family are arriving soon, so the house is decorated with all the bits and pieces I have (not that much actually, one of my friends called it 'elegantly understated decorations'), I baked the traditional German Christmas cookies and am looking forward to decorating the real tree we got last weekend and having our annual family get-together (with the new man, indeed!) with lots of delicious food (quite a German/Welsh mix this time) and time to catch up, play board games, go for more walks, sleep in, spend time with each other,...

Therefore the B&B is now closed till mid-January and I wish you all a very happy, merry, fun, relaxing and enjoyable Christmas time wherever you are and whoever you choose to spend it with.

Nadolig Llawen as they say here.

See you in 2018!
