Explore the beautiful Sychnant Pass between Penmaenmawr and Conwy

This is also a close to home walk, this time towards the East - the two previous blog posts with Aber Falls is 5 miles to the West, Penmaenmawr Upland Walk was literally just walking up the hill behind Pen itself, so South.

You can walk it from the B&B irectly, but I usually take the car (you should know this bit about me by now) and park at one of the free parking spots so I can make the most of walking around the area itself.

Again, you can tailor this walk to your own ability and mood on the day, but plan for about 2 hours minimum to get something from the walk. You can just wonder around the pass itself, maybe visit Pensychnant, the little nature reserve where they also exhibit bits and pieces of local artists in their gallery and you can get a decent 'paned' after your walk/visit?

You can choose different paths, along the coast, deeper into Snowdonia, towards (and even all the way into) Conwy or back to Pen, but do wear good walking boots as the terrain can be uneven and muddy depending on the season. My guests borrow a map displaying several of the popular routes.

The walk offers great views of the coast (if that's where you're heading) or you can enjoy seeing the Carneddau (and the well-known wild ponies maybe?) and there are lovely little spots like this little pond everywhere to be found.

I feel very lucky to live so close to amazing countryside – that's why I moved here (apart from the fact that I wanted to open a B&B in Wales, of course).
