Delicious chocolate oat biscuits - warning very moreish!

August 24, 2018

My guests absolutely loved these easily made cookies which flew out of the jars in the rooms faster than I could bake fresh ones ;)

For about 60 biccies you'll need:

  • 115g plain flour

  • 0.5 tsp bicarbonate of soda

  • 0.25 tsp baking powder

  • 115g unsweetened soft butter

  • 100g castor sugar

  • 75g soft light brown sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 0.5 tsp vanilla essence

  • 75g oats

  • 175g chocolate of your choice chopped not too finely - The photo on the left was made with plain chocolate and the one below with white one, both yum!

All you need to do make them is:

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees

  • Mix the dry ingredients together in a bowl

  • Separately cream the butter, sugars and the vanilla essence until light and fluffy

  • Fold in the dry mix and keep folding till all the ingredients have combined nicely

  • Line a baking tray and drop teaspoonfuls of the dough mix onto it - space them quite a bit apart as they'll spread a little

  • Bake for about 15 mins and then leave to cool on a wire rack

  • Tadaa!

  • Enjoy them however you fancy

  • Bake more? ;)
